  • Kylee Brant, LCMFT, RPT-S

    FOUNDER

    Kylee is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, graduating from Friends University in Wichita, KS, with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Previously, she attended Wichita State University and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Counseling.

    She strives to help children and families connect more deeply throughout her work. She clinically treats clients of all ages. Kylee is certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy, is a trained facilitator in Couples’ Communication, Prepare & Enrich, and is Level II Gottman certified to help those struggling in their personal relationships. She is EMDR and TF-CBT trained to help individuals with traumatic experiences reach their desired goals. Kylee is also certified in Pre-Natal, Infant, and Toddler Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up, able to treat children and families as early as in-utero.

    Kylee currently serves on the Kansas Play Therapy Board as President-Elect, while also being a clinical supervisor for graduate students at a local university. She truly loves the mission of WTS and is extremely grateful to be a co-owner. Kylee regularly has her certified service dog, Rory, by her side who helps her intervene in her work with clients!

  • Brenda Brown, LCMFT

    FOUNDER

    Brenda E. Brown, LCMFT, is a dedicated mental health professional and Co-Founder of Wichita Therapy Stop. With a career in mental health that began in 2007, Brenda has a profound commitment to supporting individuals and families through therapeutic practices. She earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University in Wichita, receiving the prestigious Sheldon Louthan Award for Outstanding Graduate Student in 2008. Brenda is also an esteemed member of Delta Kappa, an MFT Academic Honors Society, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

    Brenda's career in community mental health has been marked by extensive experience in crisis services and mental health assessments across multiple hospitals and counties. She served as the Clinical Director at Cowley County Mental Health Center in 2011 and later as the Interim Executive Director. In 2014, she joined Horizons Mental Health Center, where she led the Same Day Access Department and subsequently served as the Chief Operating Officer. Since 2021, Brenda has focused her expertise on private practice and the growth of Wichita Therapy Stop.

    An AAMFT-approved supervisor since 2015, Brenda also contributes to the academic community as an Adjunct Faculty Member and Advisory Board member for the MFT program at Friends University. Her specialization in trauma work, particularly through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), reflects her deep commitment to helping individuals overcome their challenges.

    Brenda's passion for her work is deeply personal; with a family background in emergency services, she has a unique understanding of the needs of first responders. Brenda works with a diverse range of clients, assisting them in addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. She believes in the power of supportive guidance and is honored to help clients navigate their paths to healing and personal growth.

    I am a student therapist pursuing a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling at Wichita State University, with an expected graduation date of May 2025. I work with individuals, couples, and families. Most of my experience has been with adolescents and adults for concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, and grief and loss. I am also committed to providing a safe, affirming space for individuals who are LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent. My approach to counseling and therapy is trauma-informed and client-centered. I strive to empower clients to take an active role in their care, and recognize the complex and pervasive impact that trauma can have in their lives.

  • Bianca Rodriguez, LCMFT

    I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. When I'm not working, I enjoy going to concerts, reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. I have a bachelor's degree from Pittsburg State University and a master’s degree from Friends University. I have experience working with children, teens, and adults.

    I provide individual, couple and family therapy. I have treated anxiety, depression, ADHD, ODD, DMDD, and many other diagnoses while practicing therapy. I utilize therapy approaches that are direct and will challenge you while also respecting your boundaries.

    Whether you are a child struggling in school, a teen looking for independence, or an adult juggling life's challenges, I am here to help find ways to manage stress, process events, and better balance your mental health. I would love to be a part of your journey towards growth, healing, clarity, autonomy, and emotional connection.

    I work with individuals, families, adolescents and children. My background, skills, and experience make me particularly well suited to work with young clients and adolescents.

    My practice most often addresses issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, relationships, anger management, attachment, divorce, emotion regulation, parent-child relationships, sibling conflict, self-esteem, blended families, and adoption.

    To address these concerns and more, the client and I develop collaboratively a unique and individualized treatment plan. Some of the approaches I have used include: cognitive behavioral, simulation-focused experiential, attachment-based, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and sand therapy

    I am dedicated to creating a compassionate and supportive environment where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can explore their emotions, learn effective communication strategies, and develop healthy, lasting relationships. My mission is to help my clients build resilience and flexibility, enabling them to face life's challenges and strengthen their relationships, even in difficult circumstances. With experience in addressing depression, anxiety, grief, and relationship distress, I am passionate about supporting clients through various life struggles.

    As a former teacher, I also have unique expertise in working with children and adolescents, helping them navigate emotional and developmental challenges. Counseling from a place of personal experience, I understand the profound impact that life’s hardships can have. My own journey through years of infertility, becoming a mother through adoption, and later expanding my family with the help of a gestational carrier has shaped my approach to therapy. These experiences instilled in me a deep desire to walk with others through times of loss and uncertainty.

    My preferred theoretical approaches are person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. I am a Level 1 Gottman certified therapist as well as a Gottman certified Bringing Baby Home educator. I’m eager to help couples improve their communication and intimacy.

    I work with a wide variety of clients from all different backgrounds and walks of life. Whether you a struggling from anxiety and depression, marital issues, grief, life transition, self-harm or other areas of concern, I am here to help.

    I am a Wichita native and graduated from Friends University in 2018. I have been working in private practices since graduating. I enjoy working with adults by using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Narrative Therapy. I love identifying the stories we tell ourselves and the impact those stories can have on our lives. I've worked with an array of diagnoses and concerns such as; anxiety, depression, PTSD, developmental delays, religious trauma, and more.

  • Sarah Cashon, LPC

    Sarah Cashon, LPC, Certified Play Therapist, is committed to providing effective therapy to individuals of all ages.

    Sarah's journey in the field of mental health began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fort Hays State University, followed by a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State University. Additionally, Sarah holds a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice with a focus on victim advocacy.

    Sarah pursued certification in play therapy through Wichita State University. She is also a certified trauma professional, equipped to support clients dealing with various forms of trauma. Sarah's therapeutic toolkit extends further with training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), allowing her to tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of each client she serves.

    With over five years of experience in the mental health field, Sarah has worked across diverse settings, including psychiatric residential treatment facilities and community mental health clinics. Sarah's journey into counseling was inspired by her work with adolescents in a support capacity, where she witnessed firsthand the transformative power of therapy. This experience ignited her passion for empowering others to overcome obstacles and cultivate fulfilling lives. Currently, Sarah offers telehealth options to clients residing in Kansas, recognizing the importance of accessibility in mental health services. Sarah strives to make a positive difference in the lives of her clients, empowering them to build resilience, foster growth, and achieve their therapeutic goals.
